Gone are the days when you needed a Nexus device to take advantage of the Photo Sphere feature. Thanks to Google+’s Auto-Awesome feature, panorama photos taken with your DSLR camera can now be used to make one gigantic Photo Sphere.
To make that happen, all you need to do is enable Auto-Awesome feature on your Google+, which is turned on by default unless you’ve turned it off from the settings, and upload 360-degree horizontal and 180-degree vertical photos and Google+’s intelligent Auto-Awesome feature will automatically create an interactive photosphere and show it to you privately. You can then publish it and share with your friends or on Google Maps.
So if you have a DSLR camera and you know how to take panoramas, take some shots now and try out Google+ Auto-Awesome feature today! And if you don’t have a DSLR, don’t get upset. Your Android phone running KitKat or more can take advantage of the new Camera app that Google recently released on Google Play to create such Photo Spheres.
So, what do you think about Google’s latest attempt at making Google+ a little more useful, despite the fact that the company is no longer treating Google+ as a standalone product?
