Mobile and tablet has taken over the market. If you host a website, chances are, a large number of your visitors come from mobile and tablet devices. If you show AdSense to earn revenue from those visitors, you may want to make sure that AdSense is properly formatted for their screen and that you’re maximizing your revenue. So how do you make your ads responsive for different screens?
If you haven’t been to your AdSense dashboard recently, you should pay a visit now. Because Google now lets you create responsive ad units from your AdSense dashboard. That’s what I’ll be showing you today. Create a responsive ad unit for your website banner (or other places) that fits the size of the screen regardless of what size and resolution. So let’s get started.
As you can see in the video above, it’s as simple as choosing the right ad type when you’re creating a new ad unit for AdSense. Just to remind you of a few things:
- AdSense ad units are responsive only during the page load. So if you resize your window after loading up an ad, it won’t respond to that.
- Resize your window first and then try reloading. You’ll see the AdSense ad unit responds to that size and loads accordingly.
- The above won’t be an issue with various smartphones or tablet devices as they will always have a fixed size.
So there you go! If you have got a lot of users on your website who are visiting from mobile and tablet devices, which you can test by using Google Analytics for free, you should be using responsive ad units on AdSense to make sure that you’re delivering the perfect sized ads to your visitors.
